Aria's Story

Aria will be 13 soon. She loves to swim, because floating in warm water is the only place she gets some relief from her daily pain. Aria was born with every long bone in her body broken. By the time she was three, she had 150 breaks under her belt. Sometimes she walks, but most of the time now she does not. She has been diagnosed with Type 3 severe Ostoegenesis Imperfecta, and has recently been referred to genetics to get an official secondary diagnosis of Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. She has just begun homeschooling, and discovered that learning can be really fun. She just finished reading the first Percy Jackson, and can’t wait to begin the next book. It is often referred to as Brittle Bone Disease.
